Tioga County Early Days Fall Festival - Sept. 10-12, 2010

The Tioga County Early Days Fall Festival will be held September 10, 11, and 12, 2010 at 1686 West Hill Rd, Covington, PA.  The festival will open daily at 9 am.  A $2.00 donation per person, under 16 are free is requested.  $10.00 for camping for the weekend.  This year will have live music by Penny Eckman on Saturday, Sept. 11 from 7 to 9 pm.  For more information, visit http://www.TiogaCountyEarlyDays.org

A lot of you have been asking about the Morris Old Home Days information.  I'm sorry, I've been lax the last few weeks.  Here's the schedule:

12 miles south of Wellsboro on Rt. 287 in Morris, PA

Saturday, September 4th

  • 8 am to 10 am - Breakfast Served
  • 10 am - Tractor Pull
  • 10 am - Flea Market
  • Noon - 50/50 Bingo
  • 11 am to 3 pm - Burning Hills Band
  • 5 pm to 9 pm - Country Fever
  • 7 pm - Little Miss Morris Pageant
  • Dark - Fireworks (Rain/Fog date is Sunday, 9/5)

Revitalize Mansfield! New MDDC Campaign

Mansfield has a new revitalization organization targetting downtown Mansfield.  It looks like they'll be doing some pretty interesting stuff with cooperation from Mansfield University, Borough, and local community members.  They're first major project will be a four-screen movie theatre to show first run movies and provide a venue for local arts and cultural actiivites.  The other projects on the list include a 24 hour diner, full service bookstore, indoor family sports center (The YMCA?) and a world class mountain bike course.  More...

Mansfield's Fabulous 1890's Weekend is fast approaching, September 25 and 26, 2009.  The 1890's weekend takes you back in time to the world's first night football game played by Mansfield Univeristy at Smythe Park on September 28, 1892.  The festival has greatly expanded over the last few years and includes two days of entertainment, crafts food and music.  More...
