Well, after about 4 e-mails back and forth with Jason Przybycien, A Wellsboro Gazette reporter and their webmaster, I was able to finally get into the new e-edition.  Jason said they're still working out the bugs, but from what I saw, everything looks great.  It looks like they're going straight from their layout design software to a PDF format.  Each page is broken out into a separate PDF which is displayed inline in the e-edition section.  I give it 2 thumbs up and congratulate them on jumping into the 21st Century with a sustainable business venture.  Way to go newsies!

Well, it's official.  I received an e-mail today that the Gazette now offers a digital subscription.

"Thank you all for participating in the Wellsboro Gazette online. We are proud to say that the E-edition, digital paper version, of the Wellsboro Gazette is ready to begin. You should be able to subscribe to it online today. As part of the improvement, registration for the message boards will no longer be necessary. The account you created will be deleted, but you will still be able to post messages. If you are a current print subscriber, your free subscription to the digital edition can be easily accessed. Just log in with your account number (found on your renewal card) as a name and your last name, capitalized, as the password. Thank you for your patience and support."More...

This just in - The Wellsboro Gazette has made the jump to web 2.0 with a redesigned website with clean lines, flash, ajax, and the all important rounded edges.  Sadly, they still don't offer an electronic subscription to the full paper through their website. More...
